This is a draft. It will apply when the Drobyn wardrobe opens, and it may change before then.
About this policy
This policy explains what personal data Drobyn™ collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and the choices you have. It covers the Drobyn website at drobyn.com, the Drobyn web app and the Drobyn mobile apps.
Drobyn is run by Payasi Technolabs Private Limited, Jaisinghnagar, Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, India ("we", "us"). Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the data fiduciary for your personal data.
In short: we use your data to run your wardrobe and to make suggestions for you. We never sell it, and your photos and wardrobe are never used to train AI models, by us or by anyone we work with. Location, calendar access and the detailed style profile are optional, and you can switch them off at any time.
Your account
When you create an account we keep your name, email address and username, and how you sign in. Your password is stored only as a secure hash, never as the password itself.
If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your name, your email address, whether Google has confirmed that address, and an ID for your Google account. We don’t receive your Google password, contacts or photos.
You can add a profile picture and a short bio if you like.
Your wardrobe
We keep what you add so your wardrobe is there whenever you come back: photos of your clothes and the cut-outs and images we make from them, item details such as name, brand, colours, material, size, price and where you bought it, and your outfits, collections, planner, wear log and notes.
Photos can contain more than clothes. If people appear in a photo, our AI notes that, so it can pick out the clothes. Photo files can also carry details your camera added, such as when and where the photo was taken. We remove the location and other identifying details from every photo you upload; what makes it display correctly, such as which way up it goes, is kept.
Your style profile (optional)
To tailor suggestions, you can tell us about your style: sizes, height and body shape, skin tone and undertone, colours you love or avoid, materials, patterns and brands, how much coverage and comfort you prefer, the occasions you dress for, your zodiac sign, and notes about your style or cultural preferences. The colour card can also estimate your skin tone and undertone from a photo you choose.
Some of this can reveal sensitive things about you, such as your ethnicity or religion. All of it is optional, it is used only to make suggestions for you, and you can change or delete it at any time in your profile.
Location (optional)
If you allow it, the app reads your approximate location once, when you ask it to find your city, so the daily suggestion can match your weather. You can type your city instead.
We keep your city and its approximate coordinates, not a record of where you go. To look up the place name and the forecast, we send approximate coordinates (never your name or account) to the services listed under "Who we share data with".
Your phone’s calendar (optional, Android)
If you connect your phone’s calendar, the app reads events from the past week and the next two months so it can plan outfits around them. It reads each event’s title, start and end time, whether you are busy, whether it repeats and how many people are invited (never who), plus the names of your calendars. It never changes your calendar.
These details are stored on our servers with your device model and time zone, so your planner works on every device. Disconnecting the calendar in settings deletes everything that was synced.
Payments
Payments are handled by Cashfree Payments. We receive and keep the plan you chose, the amount, dates, the payment status and the payment reference. We never receive your full card number, card security code or UPI PIN.
How you use Drobyn
We record how Drobyn is used, such as which screens are opened and which features are used, so we can fix problems and improve it. These records carry a random ID for your device and visit, your account ID when you are signed in, and your language and time zone. On the web they also note which site or campaign brought you to us.
We never record what you type into a form. Drobyn has no advertising trackers, and these records stay with us. You can switch usage analytics off in your settings, and the web app stops recording when your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal.
Our servers also log technical details of each request, such as your IP address, for security and to stop abuse. These logs are kept only briefly.
Messages and email
We email you codes to confirm your address and reset your password, and security notices about your account. Style tips and product news arrive only if you ask for them, and every one has a way to unsubscribe.
When you write to us, through the contact form or by email, we use your name, email address and message to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
This website
The website records which pages are viewed and which links and buttons are used, so we can improve it. It never records what you type into a form.
If you sign up for launch updates or the newsletter, we keep your email address, your name if you give it, and what you signed up for. Before we add you to a mailing list, we will email you to confirm the address is yours.
Why we use your data
We use your data, with your consent, to run Drobyn for you: to keep your wardrobe, make AI suggestions, match them to your weather and calendar, take payments, send the emails you need and help when you contact us. We also use it to keep Drobyn secure, to improve it, and where the law requires us to, for example to keep tax records.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by switching a feature off in settings or by deleting your account. That doesn’t affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
AI
Drobyn’s AI recognises clothes in your photos and suggests details, outfits, colours and virtual try-ons. It runs on our own computers, or with AI service providers that process your photos only to give Drobyn its results. They are not allowed to use your photos or wardrobe to train their models, or to keep them longer than needed. We list them under "Who we share data with".
We do not use your photos or wardrobe to train AI models. When we measure how well the AI works, we record timings and sizes, not your content.
AI output is a suggestion. You decide what to keep.
Where your data is kept
Your account and wardrobe details are kept on our servers in India. Your photos are stored with Google Cloud in the United States, what you send through the website’s forms is stored with Cloudflare in the Asia-Pacific region, and some of the services above work from other countries. When data leaves India, we only use services that protect it to the standard Indian law requires.
How long we keep it
While you have an account, we keep your account and wardrobe so Drobyn works for you.
When you delete your account, we delete your account, wardrobe, photos, style profile and synced calendar within 30 days. Copies in our backups are deleted within a further 30 days.
Usage records are kept for up to 13 months; after that only combined totals that don’t identify you are kept.
Payment and invoice records are kept for as long as tax and company law require, currently up to 8 years.
Messages you send us are kept for 2 years after the conversation ends.
Your choices and rights
You can see, correct and delete most of your data yourself in Drobyn: edit your profile and wardrobe, switch off usage analytics, AI personalisation and weather personalisation in settings, disconnect your calendar, or delete your account.
Under Indian law you also have the right to ask us for a summary of the data we hold about you and who we have shared it with, to have it corrected, completed or erased, to have a grievance resolved, and to nominate someone to act for you if you die or become unable to.
Write to support@drobyn.com from the email address on your account. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to our grievance officer, and then to the Data Protection Board of India.
Keeping your data safe
Everything travels to and from Drobyn over encrypted connections. Passwords are stored with a strong one-way hash, sign-in sessions expire and can be revoked, photos are stored privately and shown only through links that expire, and the mobile app keeps your sign-in in your phone’s secure storage. Only the people who run Drobyn can reach our systems.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India, as the law requires.
Children
Drobyn is for people aged 18 and over, and you confirm your age when you sign up. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we will delete it.
On your phone
The mobile app asks for each permission only when you use the feature that needs it: the camera and photos to add clothes, approximate location to find your city, and on Android the calendar to plan around your events. Reminders are notifications created on your phone.
Motion data, used only to let the clothes on the welcome screen sway as you tilt your phone, never leaves your device.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change applies, and ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
